The Epstein files have returned to the news with a vengeance at a time that is particularly bad for Trump. His approvals are in the dumpster thanks to the damage he has done to our country for which he has only himself to blame: from DOGE wrecking our government, creating chaos, firing the people who keep our country safe, to slapping tariffs (taxes paid by American consumers) on everything, to massive corruption that has make him as overnight billionaire, to the weaponization of the Dept of Justice to indict his personal enemies, to taking a wrecking ball to the People’s House, to pushing the Big Beautiful Bill that will wreck people’s health care.
Trump’s base voted for him because he promised them better lives and governmental transparency. They thought the Epstein files would expose a cabal of Democratic elites. Instead, it is becoming clear that it will expose something very bad about Trump himself.
EPSTEIN “SPEAKS” FROM THE GRAVE
Once the House was back in session after the shutdown, the House Oversight Committee released damning emails that show Trump has been lying about his connection to Jeffrey Epstein. The House Oversight Committee’s subpoena to Epstein’s estate has yielded a trove of emails that closely link Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, the most notorious pedophile trafficker in history, despite Trump’s claims that he hardly knew the guy.
In these emails, written at a time when there was no motivation on Epstein’s part to lie about what he knew about Trump, Epstein says he is the one who understands Trump’s background well enough to “take him down”.
Epstein was texting with an unidentified acquaintance, who wrote that “they’re really just trying to take down Trump and doing whatever they can to do that…!” “its wild,” Mr. Epstein replied. “because i am the one able to take him down.”
Even though Epstein is dead and buried, these emails from the grave are helping to take Trump down. Why? Because the fight over the release of this evidence, which Trump’s base has been demanding for years, has split the MAGA base. Some in his base are siding with Trump who is resisting the release of these files and others are insisting the files be released. Margorie Taylor-Greene has become a whipping boy for Trump’s rage.
A MAGA MELTDOWN: The breakup between Trump and Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-Ga.) is complete. After Greene raised red flags over Trump’s handling of the Epstein files and affordability, Trump broke with Green in a scathing Truth Social post, calling her a “ranting lunatic” and signaling his support for a primary challenge against her, POLITICO’s Danny Nguyen reports. Greene hit back on X, posting screenshots of her texts to Trump and blasting his attack as an “example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote.” Trump woke up still angry, calling Greene a RINO this morning, with Greene doubling down on releasing the Epstein files. DISILLUSIONMENT WITH TRUMP
This split in the MAGA base comes at a time when there is a growing sense of regret and disillusionment that many of Trump’s own voters have about installing Trump for a second term. In particular, there is anger among working Americans about how Trump is spectacularly failing to make their lives better as he promised to do.
Trump is demolishing things that Americans care about and keep them safe, things Americans actually need to live productive lives, and he’s acting like a spoiled, self-centered brat in the process, which is ruining his image as a populist hero.
Trump literally took a wrecking ball to the White House East Wing, The “People’s House”, without asking anyone for approval which shocked and angered millions of Americans. Trump is bragging about how he will build himself a massive gold encrusted ballroom that will dwarf the rest of the White House. Then he goes off and plays golf and parties at Mar-a-Lago with his billionaire buddies.
Meanwhile, working Americans lose their healthcare, their SNAP benefits, their job prospects, the hope that they could afford a home someday. Some people who look Hispanic are being kidnapped off the streets of American cities, snatched up without regard for whether they are in fact citizens or have valid work papers or have ever been accused of any crime, by ICE and the border patrol guards without probable cause or due process and sent to overcrowded detention centers where they are forced to sleep on concrete floors, get little to eat and are denied their right to counsel. (Yes, all of that has been documented in Chicago by the ACLU).
We saw how that is playing out in the most recent elections that boosted the Dems across the board.

In the recent New Jersey governor’s race, the Democratic Party clawed back much of the ground it had lost with Hispanic voters in the 2024 presidential race, according to a township-level analysis of results by The New York Times.
The results are stark: The heavily Hispanic areas that shifted the most to the left in 2025 were virtually a mirror image of the places that had swung the farthest to the right in 2024.
That’s what you get when your Dept of Homeland Security engages in what sure as heck looks like ethnic cleansing.
BACKLASH
Trump is losing bigly in the polls.
As of mid-November 2025, Donald Trump’s approval rating for his handling of the economy hovers at 33%. This figure is based on a poll conducted by AP-NORC from November 6-10, 2025.
- The AP-NORC poll found that 33% of adults approve of his handling of the economy.
- This rating is largely unchanged from the previous month, as 34% approved in October.
- Another source indicates his net approval rating on inflation is negative 33%.
- Concerns about the economy have contributed to a decline in Trump’s overall approval ratings.
EPSTEIN ESTATE EMAILS COMPOUND THE DAMAGE TO TRUMP’S IMAGE
Harry Litman’s Talking Fed blog summarizes what the emails from the Epstein estate tell us so far.
The emails don’t establish criminal conduct, but they destroy Trump’s central defense: that he barely knew Epstein, knew nothing about the abuse, and had no meaningful contact with Maxwell. Instead, they show proximity, familiarity, and knowledge. They show Maxwell bending over backward to shield him, Blanche shaping an interview to avoid contradictions, and Epstein alternately courting and threatening a man he viewed as both valuable and volatile. Most importantly, they show that Trump’s claim that the entire saga is a “hoax” is itself a fiction—one that dissolves upon contact with even this initial, small slice of the record.
If these are just the emails, the unsworn correspondence of deeply compromised figures, then the question isn’t whether the fuller record is more damning. The only question is how much more.
In some of these newly released emails from his estate, Epstein trashes Trump.
Mr. Epstein repeatedly insulted Mr. Trump. In a January 2018 email to Mr. Wolff, Mr. Epstein referred to the president as “dopey donald” and “demented donald,” saying that his finances were “all a sham.”
Later that year, Mr. Epstein emailed with Lawrence H. Summers, the former Treasury secretary and Harvard University president, about Mr. Trump. Mr. Epstein called him “borderline insane.”
CNBC reports:
- Notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein said of President Donald Trump, “I know how dirty donald is,” in a 2018 email thread released by House Democrats about Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen pleading guilty to campaign finance violations and agreeing to cooperate in a federal investigation of the president.
- The email thread, which CNBC has not independently verified, is among more than 20,000 documents obtained from Epstein’s estate through a subpoena by Democrats on the House oversight committee, which released them.
- In a 2019 email, Epstein told author Michael Wolff that his ex-friend Trump “knew about the girls.”
- Epstein, in a 2011 email to his now-convicted procurer Ghislaine Maxwell, wrote, “I want you to realize that the dog that hasn’t barked is trump.” Epstein added that a person whose name was redacted in the email but whom the Democrats identified as a victim of his “spent hours at my house with” Trump.
A NEW PLOY TO KEEP THE FILES SECRET?
About 90% of the information agents developed in their massive sixteen or so years of investigation into Jeffrey Epstein is estimated to still be hidden from the public and in the possession of the FBI. Mike Johnson has kept his thumb on the scale to comply with Trump’s wishes. Trump and his loyal toadies: Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and others were all doing whatever they could to keep a lid on these materials. They were slow walking everything and Johnson was refusing to bring the request to release the files up for a vote. He kept the House on vacation for over 40 days to avoid a vote that Trump didn’t want and refused to swear in the elected Democrat who was the 218th vote for the discharge petition. The “discharge petition” is the way the House can get around a speaker of the house’s refusal to bring something for a vote in the House. That discharge petition vote happened today. Tuesday, November 18th. Every Republican in the House except one voted to release the files. That happened because Trump realized he had been beaten.
SUDDENLY TRUMP SAYS ” RELEASE THE FILES”
Pushed by the MAGA base, House Republicans were planning to make a “jailbreak” from Trump and MAGA Mike en masse by voting to release the files. So Trump pretended he changed his mind about releasing the files to minimize the fact that had lost the whole game. After all, if he really wanted to release them he could have done it yesterday because as president he has the power to declassify anything. After the House voted to release the files, the Senate unanimously voted to do the same.
Of course, that doesn’t mean they will be made public!
On November 14th Trump ordered Pam Bondi to open an investigation into certain Democrats named in the DOJ Epstein files like Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman and Larry Summers as well as other Democrats. Only Democrats, of course. If there is an active DOJ investigation, that will provide Trump and others in the DOJ the ability to claim that the information in those files cannot be made public. That could be their sneaky way to keep this cover up going.
But momentum is on the side of the victims. Failing to expose the truth here will only make Americans more upset and ignite more speculation that Trump is one of the elite pedophiles. This headache for Trump is not going away.
WHAT’S IN THOSE FILES ANYHOW?
The Epstein materials the public has not yet seen contain many videos and photographs. Epstein had a video camera going at his homes and filmed the many sexual encounters that took place there. Epstein allegedly kept the photos and films in his safe allegedly so that he could blackmail the wealthy men who engaged in sex with his trafficked girls.
Some people are speculating that Trump himself is probably not implicated. Maybe he is protecting his Republican donor friends they say. But have you ever seen Trump really care about anyone other than himself? His efforts to hide the Epstein information in DOJ possession reek of fear. About himself? We don’t know. But don’t forget Pam Bondi already had FBI agents combing through all of that evidence to identify any references to Trump and other high profile men many months ago. Trump knows what is in those files. There is something bad in there for him.
MEGYN KELLY: PREDICTING A DEFENSE?
We might be getting a hint from Megyn Kelly about how some will defend Trump or other high profile men if and when information surfaces from these files that implicates them. She seems to be advancing a view that softens the definition of pedophilia by making a distinction based on the age of the child you rape. She claims to have access to an insider who knows what Epstein did and she says she is passing along HIS ideas.
“This is this person’s view, who was there for a lot of this, but that he was into the barely legal type. Like, he liked 15-year-old girls. And I realize this is disgusting. I’m definitely not trying to make an excuse for this. I’m just giving you facts, that he wasn’t into, like, 8-year-olds. But he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby.”
Trump has been credibly accused of having sex with at least one underage young girl that he knew was 13 (see below). It is also clear now that Mar-a-Lago was used as Maxwell’s hunting ground to recruit Epstein’s sex trafficked victims and it is unlikely that Trump did not know that.

The Epstein victims spoke out on the steps of the Capitol this morning. Some of them had harsh words for President Trump. But remarkably this cause, protecting young girls from powerful men who are pedophiles, seems to be breaking through and unifying our country in a way nothing else has before. Stay tuned.
