PETE HEGSETH POSTURES IN FRONT OF OUR MILITARY GENERALS
Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth gathered military generals at Quantico to tell them they will be called on to go to war against Americans Trump fears.
Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, convened of hundreds of generals and admirals at a huge cost (estimated at 6 million dollars) to taxpaying Americans and used them as a backdrop to a toxic tirade about the military being too woke and fat for his taste.
Mr. Hegseth delivered his swaggering, speech berating our military generals at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Northern Virginia wearing an American flag belt buckle and standing in front of a giant American flag. Hegseth, who was not a very successful major in the National Guard, lectured our top brass about being fat and woke and not doing enough push-ups. [NYT]
As Tom Nichols reported in The Atlantic in his article titled “The Commander in Chief is Not Okay,”
Hegseth strutted and paced and lectured and hectored, warning the officers that he was tired of seeing fat people in the halls of the Pentagon and promising to take the men who have medical or religious exemptions from shaving—by-the-way that’s mostly Black men—and kick them out of the military. He assured them that the “woke” Department of Defense was now a robust and manly Department of War, and that they would no longer have to worry about people “smearing” them as “toxic” leaders. (Hegseth went on a tirade about the word toxic itself, noting that if a commitment to high standards made him “toxic,” then “so be it.”)
WHAT ABOUT OUR FAT COMMANDER IN CHIEF?
Pete Hegseth said he was tired of seeing “fat troops” and “fat generals and admirals.”
After saying that, the very thing he claimed he was tired of seeing: overweight, bent over, low energy Donald Trump, lumbered onto the stage and gave an hour long cuckoo for CoCo Puffs, meandering, stream of consciousness talk about whatever the heck was on his mind while our decorated military leaders sat stone-faced throughout the whole embarrassing sh*t show.
Tom Nichols describes Trump as he:
“wandered around, lost in the halls of history. He talked about how the Department of War was renamed in the 1950s. (It was in the late 1940s.) At one point, he mentioned that the Atomic Energy Commission had confirmed that his strike on Iran had destroyed Tehran’s nuclear program. (Iran still has a nuclear program, and the AEC hasn’t existed since the mid-’70s.) He whined about the “Gulf of America” and how he beat the Associated Press in court on the issue. (The case is still ongoing.) The Israeli-Palestinian conflict? “I said”—he did not identify to whom—“‘How long have you been fighting?’ ‘Three thousand years, sir.’ That’s a long time. But we got it, I think, settled.”
He added later: “War is very strange.”
And so it went, as Trump recycled old rally speeches, full of his usual grievances, lies, and misrepresentations; his obsessions with former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama; and his sour disappointment in the Nobel Prize committee. (“They’ll give it to some guy that didn’t do a damn thing,” he said.) He congratulated himself on tariffs, noting that the money could buy a lot of battleships, “to use an old term.” And come to think of it, he said, maybe America should build battleships again, from steel, not that papier-mâché and aluminum stuff the Navy is apparently using now: “Aluminum that melts if it looks at a missile coming at it. It starts melting as the missile is about two miles away.”
In case that wasn’t weird enough for you, here is more of what Trump said that should tell you how not okay Donald Trump is these days:
For the next 70 minutes, he spoke slowly, slurring words, delivering to the hundreds of professionals who had rushed from around the world to attend this meeting a rambling, incoherent stream of words that jumped from what appeared to be prepared remarks to his own improvisation. He covered the “Gulf of America,” the seven or eight wars he claims to have ended, the “millions and millions of lives” he has saved, nuclear weapons (one of the two “n-words” he informed the military leaders you can’t say), his demanding “beautiful paper, the gorgeous paper” with “the real gold writing” when he signs things (“I love my signature. I really do. Everyone loves my signature,” he said), finding $31 billion on “the tariff shelf,” making Canada the 51st state, his dislike of the “aesthetics” of certain Navy ships, wild claims about his 2024 electoral victory, the press, America First, immigrants from prisons and mental institutions, and Venezuelans not daring to go out in boats for fear the U.S. will “blow [them] out of existence.”
The speech was highly partisan, attacking former president Joe Biden by name eleven times, calling him “the auto pen” and claiming his administration was really run by “radical left lunatics.” “We were not respected with Biden,” Trump said.
“They looked at him falling downstairs every day. Every day, the guy is falling downstairs. He said, It’s not our President. We can’t have it. I’m very careful. You know, when I walk downstairs for, like, a month, stairs, like these stairs, I’m very—I walk very slowly. Nobody has to set a record. Just try not to fall, because it doesn’t work out well. A few of our presidents have fallen and it became a part of their legacy. We don’t want that. You walk nice and easy. You’re not having—you don’t have to set any record. Be cool. Be cool when you walk down, but don’t—don’t pop down the stairs. So one thing with Obama, I had zero respect for him as a President, but he would bop down those stairs. I’ve never seen it. Da-da, da-da, da-da, bop, bop, bop. He’d go down the stairs. Wouldn’t hold on. I said, It’s great. I don’t want to do it. I guess I could do it. But eventually, bad things are going to happen, and it only takes once. But he did a lousy job as president. A year ago, we were a dead country. We were dead. This country was going to hell.”
TRUMP IS GOING AFTER AMERICANS HE FEARS OR HATES TO SCARE THEM, SHUT THEM UP, AND KEEP THEM FROM VOTING IN THE MIDTERMS
Like Hegseth’s speech, Trump’s speech announced a new mission for the military. Trump claimed the U.S. has domestic enemies, “insurrectionists” “paid by the radical left,” and said that cities “that are run by the radical-left Democrats…they’re very unsafe places, and we’re going to straighten them out one by one. And this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room. That’s a war, too. It’s a war from within…. And I told Pete [Hegseth] we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military—National Guard, but military—because we’re going into Chicago very soon. That’s a big city with an incompetent governor. Stupid governor.” Trump told the audience that “our inner cities” are “a big part of war now.” He talked about the “invasion from within.” He also said “American cities will be used as training grounds for our military.”
YES, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK FROM WITHIN
The enemy from within is our president and his cabinet members- our own government.
Trump has been working to divide America for close to a decade now. We are at the point where you are either pro-Trump or anti-Trump. If you are anti-Trump you are Trump’s enemy and therefore, he says, an enemy of the country. Trump , like many autocrats before him, has confused and merged himself with the will of We the People. Who is anti-Trump? Anyone who doesn’t agree with him. Anyone who dares to make a joke about him- like Jimmy Kimmel and other late night show hosts. Anyone his paranoia causes him to think is dangerous to HIM. Trump has always been sort of paranoid but he is getting worse.
What happened at Quantico was terrifying. Our generals were told that their new combatant enemies will be fellow Americans. That is un-American.
DEMENTIA
Have you ever listened to an old man (or woman) with dementia? If you have you would recognize this for what it is- Trump is not okay. He is not mentally okay. He really sounds like an old man with dementia because he is an old man with dementia.
Based on a July 2025 announcement from the White House, Donald Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a common blood vessel disease especially in older people. The diagnosis came after he was evaluated for swelling in his ankles and a consistently bruised hand that was noticed and commented on by reporters.
There is a kind of dementia related to blood vessel disease.
The Mayo Clinic notes the following about dementia related to blood vessel disease:
- Vascular dementia. This type of dementia is caused by damage to the vessels that supply blood to the brain. Blood vessel conditions can cause stroke or affect the brain in other ways, such as by damaging the fibers in the white matter of the brain. The most common symptoms of vascular dementia include trouble with problem-solving, slowed thinking, and loss of focus and organization. These symptoms tend to be more noticeable than memory loss.
- Paranoia: Paranoia is a common symptom of dementia, a group of brain disorders that cause cognitive decline and changes in behavior.
Democrats need to take back control of Congress to check this paranoid man with almost unlimited power. Trump is not going to get any saner as he gets even older.
When a president of the United States tells his generals to prepare for war against the citizens of the very country he was elected to protect, we should recognize that this president is not fit to continue with the job of being president for all Americans.
